Bessie Jane Skaggs

Bessie Jane Skaggs Holcomb – Bessie Jane Skaggs, 88 of Holcomb, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at her residence in Holcomb.

Mrs. Skaggs, daughter of Jennings and Faye Kennon Tinsley, was born on September 23, 1924 in Fredericktown, Missouri.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

On August 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Willard Cleo Skaggs. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1978.

Her survivor include, 14 children, Bill Skaggs (Roberta), Jerry Skaggs, Larry Skaggs (Sancy), Jack Skaggs (Nancy), all of Campbell, Bob Skaggs of Zelma, Jim Skaggs (Linda) of Columbia, MO, Johnny Skaggs (Terry) of Gibson, Kathy Samples (Jim) of Holcomb, Barbara Phillips (Gary) of Caruthersville, Diane Staples (Rick) of Reno, Arkansas, Rick Skaggs (Melanie) of Alvarado, Texas, Ronnie Skaggs of Indiana, Steve Skaggs (Melissa) of Wilhelmina and Stacy Skaggs (Tammy) of Clarkton; thirty-three grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, Cindy Minyard; seven siblings, Glenwood, Gene, Raymond, Roy, Kenny, Betty and Hilda;

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Skaggs; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four siblings, Marie, Helen, Edwin, John and six siblings in infancy.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Swain officiating. Burial will follow at Grassy-Friendship Cemetery in Marble Hill.
