On July 30, 1964 Deacon Floyd Armstead was born to Elouise Armstead in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the second oldest of six children, he was known to family and friends by O’maine. The family moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began his education at 111st elementary and later graduated from Centennial High School in Compton, California. After high school Floyd held various jobs. Floyd became a drug counsel, where he gave back to the community. In his spare time Floyd loved to help the less fortunate. He was also known to make everyone smile and laugh by keeping you entertained with his unique personality and jokes, he was always a pleasure to have around. Floyd dedicated his life to Christ at an early age with his family at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Robert Brown. While singing in the young adult choir until his adult life Floyd was in and out of church until he found and accepted Christ again, where he became a born again Christian at his new home of fellowship until the Lord told him well done thy good and faithful servant, come home and take your rest on May 17th, 2013 at 5:15pm. Floyd is preceded in death by his Mother Elouise Armstead, his Father Mr.Johnson, two Sisters; Cassandra and Yolanda Armstead, Grandfather Edward (Butch) Armstead, Grandmother Albertha Armstead, two Uncles; Willie and Junius Armstead, one Aunt Linda Speadley, and one Niece and Nephew. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing one Son, Floyd Armstead Jr of Los Angeles, California, one Daughter, Tasheonna Armstead of Las Vegas, Nevada, 2 Grandchildren; Floyd Armstead III and Nehimiah Armstead. Six Step-Children The Moore family and 9 additional grandchildren. He also leaves (1) Sister; Michelle Armstead; (2) Brothers; His Twin Lloyd Armstead(Melody) and Eugene Armstead(Tonya); (2) Aunties, Olevia Barber and Carolyn Williams; (3) Uncles, Rev. Edward Armstead Jr(Geraldine), Torris Armstead(Lynette), and Rev. Benjamin Armstead(Patricia); (6) nieces and (4) nephews; (2) good friends, Betty Peacock and Caroline Simpson; along with numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
