Cooper McKenzie Banks

Cooper McKenzie Banks, 25 years of age, of May, Idaho, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 near May, Idaho. Graveside Memorial services will be held on June 1, 2013 – 2:00 p.m. at the May Cemetery, May, Idaho. Cooper McKenzie Banks was born on May 5, 1988 in Sun Valley, Idaho the oldest of three children born to Alan and Sheila Banks. He grew up in Challis, Idaho where he graduated from Challis High School with the Class of 2006. He loved trucks, motorcycles, anything with a motor and anything that went fast. Cooper learned to fix up most any engine. He loved to buy and trade vehicles and guns, and knew how to earn a profit. He also enjoyed operating heavy equipment at work and cutting firewood. Recently he had met a very special young lady while he was dancing in Pocatello. Kassi soon became the love of his life. They were kindred spirits who always had fun. He was a joy to travel with, and always the entertainer. Cooper was such a sweet and funny kid with a fierce independence and a determination to live life on his terms. His family and friends will forever have a big hole in their hearts. Cooper is survived by his parents Sheila and Wayne Dodd of May, Idaho; brothers Nathan Banks of Challis, Idaho and Billy Dodd of May, Idaho. Grandparents George and Sharon Smith of Challis Idaho, and Beverly Banks of Bakersfield, California. Great-grandfather Don Thomasson of John Day, Oregon. Uncle Jeff (Laura) Smith, of Challis, Idaho, Aunt Lynda (Paul) Thomas, of Corvallis Oregon. Great Uncle Doug (Charol) Smith of John Day, Oregon, Great Aunts Marilyn Thomasson of John Day, Oregon and Donna (Roger) Lincoln of Tillamook, Oregon, several cousins and his sweetheart, Kassi Bollinger. He was preceded in death by his father Alan Banks, sister Carly Elizabeth Banks, cousin Jeffrey Smith Jr., grandfather Thomas Banks and great grandmother Wilma Thomasson.
