Daniel Rias was born on August 15, 1941 in Lexington, Mississippi to the proud parents of Harris and Minnie Rias (now deceased). He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. Daniel, who was known to his family and close friends as "Son" always had a special bond with his parents. He was very helpful in caring for them and loved them deeply, especially his mother, Minnie, whom he affectedly called "My Girl". Son's sister, Rose knew that their mother worried a lot about him, so being the caring sister she was, she took him into her arms at the age of seven and in a short period of time, Son became her favorite brother. Son always kept a smile on his face no matter what was going on around him. He loved to be around his family and friends. Son attended Jefferson High School where he found his love for boxing even though it did not pay much, it was always a way to keep him healthy and busy, since everyone knew that he could never sit still for too long. After high school, Son went into business for himself, cutting steel. With the success of his business, he was very generous, giving back to his family and community. Daniel leaves to mourn his children, Deborah (son in law, Tony), Jackie, Davette, Danielle, Sherlevia, Beatrice, Danny Jr., Andre, and Marvin; siblings, Ruby, Mary, Hattie, Rose, David, Benjamin (deceased), DC (deceased), and Cornelius (deceased); seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
