Genevieve Louise Brooks, age 89 of Athens died Sunday evening, May 26, 2013 at her home.
Born Aug. 14, 1923 in Pomeroy, she was the daughter of the late Sanford & Laura Dean Well.
She attended a one room school at Chester and was employed at Full Walgreen Drug on Court St. for 19 years. She was a member of the Life Point Pentecostal Church of Athens. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.
Genevieve is survived by her two daughters, Dianna (William) Beeler of Athens and Laura Beth (Rev. Paul) Rounds of Webster Springs, WV; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters- Virginia (Glenn) Brooks of Albany, Gladys (Gerald) Gilkey of Athens and Martha (Terry) Litz of Glen Heights, Texas; three brothers- Keith (Jean) Well of Chillicothe, Roy (Beverly) Well of Flint Twp., Michigan and Rodney (Peggy) Well of Lancaster; and a sister in law, Dorothy Well of Guysville.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Brooks in 1987 and a brother, Ralph Well.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday 1:00pm at Life Point Pentecostal Church. Rt. 50 West Athens with Rev. Paul Giertz officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, Hebbardsville. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
