Mr. Claude Lee Privette

Mr. Claude L. Privette, age 77, of 506 Maplewood Avenue, Apt. 8, Wilson, North Carolina departed his earthly life on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson, NC.

Claude was born in Johnston County, North Carolina on January 8, 1936, to the late Mr. Dawson Privette and Mrs. Beatrice Morgan Privette.

Also, Mr. Privette was preceded in death by three sisters; Thelma Powell, Wilma Earp, and Ruth Privette.

He received his education in the public schools of Johnston County.

Claude lived and worked the majority of his life in Baltimore, MD where he was a successful entrepreneur, owner, operator and business man for over 40 years.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from the Faith Temple United Holy Church, 402 Minchew Street, Wilson, NC. Minister Clyde Hocutt will officiate and Dr. Ernestine H. McGee will preside.

Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, 400 College Street, Wilson, NC.

Visitation and public viewing will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Faith Temple United Holy Church, 402 Minchew Street, Wilson, NC. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Also, on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Faith Temple United Holy Church, 402 Minchew Street, Wilson, NC, there will be an inspirational wake from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present to receive other family members and friends.

Mr. Privette leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories: his wife, Mary Beckwith Privette of the home; one son, Clyde Hocutt and wife, Belinda of Zebulon, NC; two daughters, Claudette Henry and husband, Melton of Greensboro, NC and Paulette Jackson and husband, Anthony of Atlanta, GA; four step-daughters, Carol Thompson of Selma, NC, Towanda Stroble, Alice Higgs and husband, Cecil and Terry Beckwith-McGuire and husband, Bobby all of Wilson, NC; four granddaughters, Angela Davenport, Danielle Hocutt, Chiana Kelly and husband, Wayco and Jaquay Jemerson; eight step-grandchildren, Aliciana, Tyrone Stroble, Jared Beckwith, Detrice, Olanda, Alex Higgs, Bobbie and Bobby Junior McGuire; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Yeboah of Oxon Hill, MD, Mary Holden of Smithfield, NC, and Betty Jean Joyner of Philadelphia, PA; two brother-in-laws, Billie Earp of Wilson, NC and Robert Powell of Capital Heights, MD; including Charles Holmes of Baltimore, MD, who he raised and reared; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will assemble on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the residence of Mrs. Mary Beckwith Privette, 506 Maplewood Avenue, Apartment 8, Wilson, North Carolina one-hour prior to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
