On June 11, 1955, the late Mr. Timothy Briggs, Sr. and Mrs. Daisy Ella (Henderson) Briggs became the proud parents of their fifth son, Timothy Briggs, Jr.
At an early age, Timothy joined the Concord M.B. Church, where during his lifetime; he served a period on the Usher Board.
After graduating from H. W. Byers/Sand Flat High School, Class of 1973, he was employed at Carrier Air Conditioning Company, Collierville, TN. Later he became self-employed as a truck driver until his health failed.
Tim loved being a DJ and making people happy at family reunions, birthdays, and other events where he was called “DJ Junior Smooth.” Also, his livelihood was riding four wheelers and horseback riding.
His earthy journey was completed at God’s call on May, 19, 2013, peacefully in his home.
He is preceded in death by two brothers: Robert and Joe Edward Briggs.
Timothy’s home going is being celebrated by: Three daughters, LaRhonda Shead, Tenisha Mays, of Memphis, TN and Olivia Mull of Lamar, MS; Two brothers, Tommy (Ardelia) Briggs of Memphis, TN and Lawrence (Delois) Briggs of Lamar, MS; Two sisters, Jeannette (Pastor Harvey) Garrison and Bernice Briggs of Lamar, MS; One sister-in-law, Carolyn Briggs of Lamar, MS; Four grandchildren; Four aunts, Geneva Pye, Katie Henderson, Annie Cunningham, and Saloan Anderson; One great aunt, Ruthie Briggs; One uncle, Clarence Mull; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
