Joyce A. Woodrow, age 90, of New London, died on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at home in New London. She was born on March 26, 1923, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Leo and Minnie (Stevens) Straus. On January 24, 1947, Joyce married Thomas A. Woodrow. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1993. Joyce joyfully lived life to the fullest surrounded by nature. She began each morning watching birds come to her feeder. Joyce was a bridge shark as well as a ceramic artist and loved making applesauce from the trees in her orchard. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jayne(Al) Neuenfeldt, New London; a son, William(Shirlene) Woodrow, Oshkosh; two daughters-in-law, Yvonne Woodrow, Menasha, and Valerie Woodrow, Neenah; six grandchildren, along with there spouses/partners and children/great-grandchildren; her sister, Kaye Kraft, Florida, and her dog “Buddy” who was her constant companion. Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Thomas J. Woodrow and her sister Evelyn Roberts. As per Joyce’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial fund is being established for Stray Animal Fund Endeavor (S.A.F.E.) Animal Rescue at the Wolf River Veterinary Clinic of New London. A celebration in her honor will be held in August.
