Luz Maria Rivera passed away May 14, 2013.

She was born December 13, 1925 to the late Francisco and Juana Acevedo, in Lares, Puerto Rico. She was a long time member of Killeen, arriving in 1957.

Mrs. Rivera was a great and wonderful person. She loved all of her family and friends, and was a devoted wife and mother. Her whole life she did for others. She was a military wife of 30 years. As a Catholic, she supported equal rights and fairness. She always gave her all. She was a powerful minded person who loved life and her pets. She taught all of her children that laughter was the best medicine. She showed her family that prayer is always the answer. She loved good food and socializing, and had a beautiful smile that would light up the room.
