Carl Clegg, 80, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. A son of the late Hobart and Nina Cruthers Clegg, he was born July 14, 1932. Carl served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 as a Private 1st Class for the U.S. Army, 808 Engineers. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, worked as an environmental aide at Mon Valley Hospital, until he retired in 1997, and was a member of the First Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Malcolm, Buddy and Hobart, Jr., and his sister, Mildred Kostella. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara Stricek Clegg, a daughter, Jennifer Clegg and her fiancé, Justin Wilkinson, of Belle Vernon, one son and daughter-in-law Brian and Jillian Clegg of Belle Vernon, five grandchildren, Jaelynn, Tyler, Noah, Luke and Aiden Clegg, several nieces and nephews, and his furry friend, Rowdy.
