Loretta was born February 23, 1941 in Wagner South Dakota, she passed away May 8, 2013 at home peacefully surrounded by family. Loretta Mae Bates was a 31 year resident of Dos Palos, Ca. She Married the love of her life Charles Bates on April 2, 1958. Loretta came to Dos Palos after living in Omaha, Nebraska and Tranquillity, Ca in 1982. Together Charles and Loretta along with their four children ran the Wheel in Bar and café. When they decided to sell their business Loretta went to work at Taco Grotto in Dos Palos, she loved her job. She was an employee there for 15 years. Her employers Pam and Greg Doucette became more than Loretta's bosses, they became family to her. Loretta worked until her health prevented her from continuing. Loretta loved to travel and spend time with her family. Loretta loved the Lord. she enjoyed attending church and singing for Jesus. Loretta was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and her daughter Betty Bryant.

Loretta is survived by her three children Elizabeth Bates of Tranquillity, Ca, Pletie Bryant and her husband Frankie of Dos Palos and Charles Bates Jr. of Dos Palos. Grandchildren Jennifer Bryant, Lori Gonzales, James Bryant, JoJo Rocha, Marie Doucette, Michael Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Crystal Bates, Tawnya Bates and Benny Macillas. Great grandchildren Azalea Macillas, Dewey Bryant, Hailey Bates, Madisyn Eaton, Riley Doucette, Bentley Tolbert, Charles Joseph Rocha, Genesie Alvarez, Josh and Brandon Doucette, and Matilyn Doucette.

Viewing and Funeral Service will be at Fierro Family Funeral Home on Friday May 17th at 10:00am, burial will follow at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
