Bob Parks, age 84, of Shelbina, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
He was born August 30, 1928, in Rushville, IL, the son of Loren Maro and Wadia Lorraine (Murphy) Parks. On May 6, 1955, he was united in marriage to Sue Finney in Quincy, IL. She survives.
Bob is survived by three children, Charles Parks and wife Peggy of Queen City, MO, Keith Parks and wife Heidi of Knob Noster, MO and Jill Parks of Boise, Idaho, four grandchildren; Melissa Parks of Fulton, MO, J. D., Alexia and Hailey Parks of Knob Noster, two great-grandchildren; Gabriel and Chloe Milius, and one sister, Sandra Winston of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Rob Parks.
Bob graduated from Quincy High School, was in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, car racing, carpentry, gardening, visiting with family and friends and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 10, 2013, at 10:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shelbina, MO, with Father Dandi Bermejo and Rev. Mr. John DeGraff officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with full military honors, in Shelbina. Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina with a vigil service at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s choice.
