Margaret Elizabeth Gambelin

Entered into rest peacefully at home in Santa Rosa, CA on May 4, 2013. Dearly beloved mother of Ken (Marge) Gambelin, Thom Gambelin and Nancy Alvarez. Adored grandmother of Tami (Dick) Wesendunk and Casey Alvarez. Cherished great grandmother of Skyler Wesendunk. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her special friends, Debbie Sowers and Tona Drewes. A native of San Francisco, CA, age 91 years. Maggie is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Jack N. Gambelin (SFFD, retired) and her daughter-in-law, Leslie Gambelin. Maggie was reared in the Mission District of San Francisco, where she graduated from St. Peter’s Grammar and High School’s. She was a long time member of the Cathedral of St. Eugene’s. A dedicated homemaker, Maggie always made “Family First” and thoroughly enjoyed their travels and vacations.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Funeral Mass inside Madelyne’s Chapel at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404) on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Private interment will follow in Sacred Heart lawn. LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) will provide visitation hours on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, where at 7:00 PM, a Vigil Service will be conducted in the main chapel. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Maggie’s name are requested to Sutter Care at Home (1110 N. Dutton Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA, 95401).
