A retired bookkeeper, she passed away at Life Care of Stoneham Saturday evening May 4th. She was 87 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea she was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Salomea (Bobrycka) Soroka. She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial Schools and was graduated from Chelsea High School. She married and shortly thereafter Her Chelsea home was among those taken for the Mystic Bridge. Together with her husband they relocated to Malden 65 years ago. She raised her family there while working as a bookkeeper with Periodic Publishing, the Chelsea County/Atlantic Savings Bank, Metropolitan Credit Union and retired from the Mass Electric Credit Union. As a young lady she belonged to the St Stanislaus CYO, and later with the churches Get Together Club. She was an award winning Bowler. Tuesday nights after bowling she would treat her family to Katz Bagels. She was passionate about playing cards and bingo. Enjoyed attending dances and socializing at the PAV in Chelsea and other organizations as well as following the Red Sox and TV Golf matches. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. “Dego” Letizia. Devoted mother of Christine Tepper and her husband Howard of Vermont, Joanne Gover and her husband Robert of Newbury, Frank A. Letizia, Jr. of Peabody and his former wife Michelle, Suzanne Letizia-Eddy of Weymouth and her former husband Scott. Dear sister of Sally Sherzi of Chelsea, the late LucilleTowski, Anthony Soroka, Sophie Znarowski, Olga Bazylewicz and Leokadia Soroka, Cherished grandmother of Ryan Dannell, Rochelle Peterson, Melissa Gover, Amanda Eddy, Tyler Eddy, Elise Letizia and Frank Letizia. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Friday May 10th at 8:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church 163 Chestnut St. Chelsea at 9:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.
