Phyllis Wanda Lee Clayton of Campbell, MO went to her heavenly home on May 1, 2013. She passed away at the Piggott Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.
She was 82 and had resided at the Gideon Care Center, Gideon, MO for the past 8 years.
She was born September 16, 1930 at Wardell, MO to Irene Hampton Gould and Earl Gould.
Phyllis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Campbell. She married James L. Clayton of Wardell, MO on September 4, 1947. They raised a daughter and a son and resided in Campbell for many years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband James L. Clayton, her parents, an infant daughter Beverly, a sister Pansy, and an infant brother Cleveland Earl.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Clayton McKenzie and husband James McKenzie of Springfield, MO, her son Terry Clayton and Becky of Campbell, MO, 3 granddaughters; Denika Bush and husband Kenny Bush of Ft. Colin's, CO, Tiffany Coffy and husband Brian Coffy of Rosemond, CA, Brandy Clayton and David Magouirk of Campbell, MO, and 1 grandson; Brandon Clayton and Brandi Clayton of Campbell, MO, 15 great grandchildren and 2 sisters; Sharon Cornman of St. Louis and Charlotte Freeman of Springfield, MO, 1 aunt; Joy Buchanan and husband Wallace Buchanan of Paducah, KY, numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends. Phyllis will be missed by all.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Landess Funeral Home, with services beginning at 1 p.m., with Reverend Dale Rickman officiating, burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Campbell.
