Henrietta Mae Custer of Crawfordsville passed away Monday morning. She was 81.
Born January 26, 1932 at Indianapolis she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret McCord VonWiller. She graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis in 1949 and later attended cosmetology school. On May 24, 1964 she was united in marriage to Richard L. Custer in Speedway, Indiana.
She was a beautician and had worked 10 years for Houston Companies in Crawfordsville as well as Nicholson Elementary School. Henrietta had been a group leader for Campfire Girls and Bluebirds and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards.
Surviving family members include her husband; daughter Sara M. Custer of Alameda, California; sister Delores Wilkes of Green Valley, Arizona; grandchildren Cody Custer of Wingate and Sophie and Ben Custer of Alameda.
She was preceded in death by a son Michael Lee Custer.
Visitation will be 5 to 8pm Friday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
