E. William 'Bill' Bailey

U.S. Veteran

E. William Bailey, 77, passed away April 28, 2013 at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana.

Bill was born in Logansport, Indiana on August 9, 1935.  He married Ruth, his wife of 44 years, and together they were the foundation of a loving family.

Bill was a beloved father and Papa.  His gentle spirit and kindness to everyone made his life an admirable example.  He was extremely thoughtful and brought smiles to many through volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and St. Vincent de Paul.  He was an avid photographer, animal lover and enthusiastic conversationalist.  He was skilled at re-purposing things and appreciated the unusual.  His sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone.

Bill's career in sales was promoted by his sincerity and warm personality.  He held positions in Training and Management for the Xerox Corporation for twenty years and retired early enough to enjoy life with Ruth and their wonderful friends.  He served in the United States Navy and was a graduate of Indiana University.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, Mark Bailey, and his daughter, Suzanne (Walter) Scott; two granddaughters, Stellamaris and Gloria Scott; brothers, Bob (Gerry), Jim (Sharon) and John (Diane); and sisters, Sue (Mike) Kiefer and Carolyn (Don) Yoakem.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Elizabeth (Elliott) Bailey, and his brothers-in-law, Robert Zimmerer and Fred Thomas of Kokomo, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Rd., Noblesville.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 3 at 11AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17104 Spring Mill Road, Westfield.  Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park, Kokomo, Indiana.

Donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Noblesville, 1355 South 10th St., Noblesville, IN  46060
