Paul B. Devine, 91, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Lincolnshire Place, Sycamore.
Born December 21, 1921, on the family farm in Mackville, Kentucky, the son of John and Maud (Board) Devine, Paul married Mary Jean Blish on July 12, 1947, at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, DeKalb.
Paul was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Second World War. He was employed in the wire mill by Anaconda in Sycamore for over 30 years. Paul was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, DeKalb, and a member of Nite Crawlers Camping Club. Along with camping, Paul also enjoyed motor cycles, and going out for dinner with friends and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Jacki (Dean) Duval of Sycamore; grandchildren, Benjamin Duval, Kayli Duval and Lauren Duval, all of Sycamore; great-grandson, Levi Duval; sister, Mary (Carl) Isham; sister-in-law, Rosalie (Ron) Vermeland; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean, in 2007; his parents; four brothers and their wives, Maurice (Vi) Devine, Buford (Janetta) Devine, Dalton (Alice) Devine and Tony (Linda) Devine; his sister and her husband, Edna (Freddie) Lake; brother-in-law, Earl Blish; sisters-in-law, Dorthy (Bill) Sabin and Edna Rowe.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at First Baptist Church, 349 S. Third Street, DeKalb, with the Rev. Bob Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb, with full military honors by a DeKalb County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
