Harry “H” Allen Daugherty, of Springfield, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Home. He was born July 11, 1933 in Kewanee, MO to the late Uriel Price and Johnie (Gilpin) Daugherty. “H” married Janet Sue Fleck, November 9, 1954 and they resided in Springfield. Mr. Daugherty graduated from Feitshan’s High School before serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War. “H” was a carpenter, working in the Springfield area for many years before retiring from the union in the Chicago area. “H” was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his son Marty, brother, Jack and sister, Crickett O’Shea.

He is survived by his wife Janet; sons, Ron (Linda) Daugherty of Springfield; Cary (Sheryl) Daugherty of Rochester; Kevin (Nancy) Daugherty of Chatham; daughter-in- law, Janet Daugherty of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Sommer Lane of Athens, Krista Daugherty of Springfield, Bud Daugherty of Springfield, Nick Daugherty of Rochester, Zack Daugherty of Oklahoma City, OK, Michael, Theresa, and Bryan Daugherty all of Peachtree City, GA, Sara and Joshua Daugherty both of Chicago, Great Grandchildren, Shana Morgan of Springfield, Emersen Lane of Athens and Cashton Daugherty of Rochester; sisters, Camilla Dowling and Marie Daugherty of Springfield.

Visitation: Mr. Daugherty’s family will greet friends after the prayer service at 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Friday, April 26, St. Joseph the Worker Church, 700 East Spruce, Chatham, with Fr. John Nolan officiating. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 1PM with the Interveteran’s Burial Detail of Sangamon County conducting military honors.
