Ralph A. Zoellner

U.S. Veteran

Ralph A. Zoellner, 89, of Perryville died April 18, 2013 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born July 26, 1923 in Biehle, MO, son of Adolph and Elizabeth (Renaud) Zoellner. He and Vera Mattingly were married on June 21, 1947. She preceded him in death April 25, 1993. Mr. Zoellner worked at Missouri Highway Department . He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Holy Name, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, American Legion, V.F.W. and US Army WW II Veteran. He loved fishing and gardening. Other survivors include three sons and one daughters; Gary (Mary) Zoellener, Karen (Lynn) Schnurbusch both of Perryville, Wayne (Dena) Zoellner of Cape Girardeau, Steven (Gail) Zoellner of Perryville, thirteen grandchildren; Craig Zoellner, Keith Zoellner, Tracy Schmidt, Brian Schnurbusch, Jared Schnurbusch, Erik Schnurbusch, Lisa Schnurbusch, Joshua Zoellner, Nichole Henderson, Matthew Zoellner, Jill Holzum, Lynn Zoellner and Jason Wray and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters; Gilbert, Sylvester, Floyd, Louis and Delbert Zoellner, Earlene Kemna, Marie Wibbenmeyer, Lucille Wibbenmeyer, and Elizabeth Buchheit. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 21 at Young & Sons Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a V.F.W. Wake at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday from 6:30 – 9:15 am with a rosary at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer on Monday at 10:00 am with Rev. Bill Rhinehart officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion & Delta Team. Memorials are preferred to American Cancer or Heart Association. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
