Lakendra Nicole Brown

Funeral services for the late Lakendra Nicole Brown will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at  11:00 a. m. at Freedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel.

Elder Robert Buckingham will officiate.

Internment will be held at New Zion Cemetery.

Lakendra Nicole Brown was born on October 21, 1988 to Larry Brown and Carolyn Brown Givens in Helena, Arkansas. 

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Freedonia M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Frierson. As a young girl she sang in the choir and was a faithful member until moving to Memphis, TN.

 Lakendra enjoyed doing hair and she attended Rust College in Holly Spring, Mississippi. She was a 2007 Graduate of Hillcrest High School in Memphis, TN. She was employed at the Dodge Store in Memphis and Helen Troy in South Haven, Mississippi. Lakendra departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Louise Richardson and great grandmother Elnora King. She leaves to cherish her memories: 

Her mother Carolyn Brown (Leon) Givens of Memphis, TN, her father Larry (Mae Bailey) Brown of Memphis, TN. (3) sisters LaToya and Tiffany Brown of Memphis, TN, and Stephanie Brown of Jonesboro, AR; (2) brothers Kenyatta Devon Brown of Memphis, TN and Larry Brown Jr., of Russellville, AR; a grandmother Artelia Brown of West Helena, AR; her grandfather James Richardson and J.T. Brown of Helena-West Helena, AR; A special niece Taniyah Douglas of Memphis TN; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
