Liberatore Ferrante

Liberatore Ferrante, 83 of Follansbee, WV passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Golden Oaks Personal Care Home in Follansbee, WV.

Libby was born on September 29, 1929 in Follansbee, WV a son of the late Antonio and Donnina (Quaranta) Ferrante.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Luisa DiPietro and a brother, Remo Ferrante.

He was a 1947 graduate of Follansbee High School and then received his B.A. from the College of Steubenville, and later he received a Masters from Dayton University. Libby retired from Brooke County Schools where he taught Accounting and business math for 30 years. He was member of the Brooke County Retired Teachers Association. Libby was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary (Norman) Spencer, Rome, NY and Anna Berardi, Follansbee, WV Twelve nieces and nephews Twenty six great nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21st from 4-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV.  Vigil services will be held on Sunday at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Fr. Pete Giannamore officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 22nd at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Paul Hudock as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery Follansbee, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 1017 Jefferson St. Follansbee, WV 26037 or Valley Hospice 10686 State Route 150 Rayland, OH 43943. The family would like to thank Chris Piccirillo and the staff of Golden Oaks and the Staff of Valley Hospice for the care he received.
