   Chancey Leonard “Leon” Alexander, 85, of Petal, died April 15, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal, followed by burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

   Mr. Alexander was a service technician for Entex and was a member of Petal United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Theatre Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal WWII.  He was very active in the VFW 690.

   He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Easterling Alexander and three brothers, Carl Alexander, Oakley Alexander and Robert Alexander.

   He is survived by his wife, Ruby Clark Lucas of Petal; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark L. and Tanya Alexander of Sumrall; a daughter and son-in-law, Patrice and Charles Seal of Petal; three stepdaughters, Jean Martin, Debbie Mitchell and Melinda Carroll, all of Petal; two sisters, Evelyn Faulkenberry of Mobile and Francis Easterling of Petal; two brothers, Van Alexander of Brookhaven and Carroll Alexander of Mize; four grandchildren, Misty White of Florence, Jessie Taylor and her husband, Jonathon, Cavett Seal, Linsey Toussaint and her husband, Jason, all of Petal; and great-grandchildren, Alex White, Andrew White, Joshua Taylor and Logan Taylor.

   Visitation will be Friday from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Petal.   Memorial donations may be made to Petal United Methodist Church Relay for Life.
