Barbara “Babbie” Gastenveld, 54, Henderson, died at 11:19 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at William N. Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was a Baptist. Babbie loved to cook and loved her grandchildren and dog. She was also a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. Pritchett and Lucille Gough; one sister, Sondra Embry; and one brother, Michael Wayne Pritchett.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, William “Sappy” Gastenveld; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Casey and her husband, Allen, of Henderson and Brooke Willett and her husband, Aaron, of Cairo; one stepson, Darrin Haynes and his wife, Jenny, of Indianapolis; three sisters, Shirley Bloyd and Frances Pruitt and her husband, Robert, both of Henderson, and Jennifer Ditser and her husband, Don, of Indiana; six brothers, James Pritchett and his wife, Phyllis, Judd Pritchett and his wife, Kim, Chris Pritchett and his wife, Susan, Ben Pritchett, all of Henderson, Jeff Pritchett and Greg Pritchett, both of Indiana; her stepmother, Rose Pritchett of Baskett; 11 stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Mary M. Wrye will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
