Dorothy Rose Masters
Dorothy Rose Masters, 91, of Rowlesburg died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland, MD.
She was born June 16, 1921, in Preston County, a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Rosa Mae Huffman Bolyard.
She was a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church. She had worked as a nurse’s aide for Preston Memorial Hospital and in the pattern layout department for Sheidow Bronze Company. She pressed flowers and leaves and also enjoyed having coffee with family and friends. She also loved to work word searches.
Mrs. Masters is survived by her son, Swanee (Chip) Masters and wife, Janet of Rowlesburg; three daughters, Betty Hayes and husband, Guy; Lorna Miller and husband, Larry and Peggy Helmick and companion, Bob Goff, all of Rowlesburg; her brother, Floyd C. Bolyard, Sr. of Rowlesburg; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. (Bud) Masters, three sisters, Betty Lou Bolyard, Virginia Strawser and Beatrice Sanders and a grandson, Jeff Grimm.
Family and friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home, Burke Chapel in Rowlesburg on Monday from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 12 noon to 2 pm the funeral hour with Pastor Harold George officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
