Ivan A. Fietzer,“Van”, 91, Neenah, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born January 17, 1922, in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, the son of Adolph and Mabel (Cary) Fietzer. Ivan married Doris Paupore, August 27, 1949, in Kingsford, MI and they were married for 63 years. During World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a crew chief and flight engineer in Naval Aviation from 1942 – 1946. After the war, he was employed as a manager of two movie theaters in Appleton for four years. After his time with the theaters he started a used car business and was there also for four years. He then joined Marathon Corporation and was employed with them for many years during the time of becoming American Can Company and then James River. He retired in 1985. He was an active member of the Neenah Club and the Neenah-Menasha Retired Mens Fellowhip. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, golfing, traveling, square dancing and most of all playing cards.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Doris; his children and granddaughter; Jim (Michelle) Fietzer Neenah and their daughter Andrea; Jane (Marty) Frieders, Dale.

Mr. Fietzer was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Louie and Elmer and two sisters Myrtle and Louise.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Kessler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. Thursday until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Cherry Meadows Hospice and the Fresenius Dialysis Center, Neenah.
