Frederick R. Ellis, 72, Henderson, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He was retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 38 years of service. He also was a well-known Taxidermist for more than 30 years and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick O. Ellis and Carolyn M. Elmeier; and one brother, William Melton.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Ellis; one daughter, Carolyn Ellis of Henderson; one sister, Bertha Nicholson of Henderson; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Ted Burke will officiate. Private burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
