Billy Martin, age 73 of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Billy was born April 5, 1940 in Bakersfield, CA, 1 of 4 children born to Nonie Fell Martin and Lillie Mae (Neal) Martin. He spent most of his childhood, either between California and Wanette, OK, where he attended school. Billy joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly. He returned home to Oklahoma and settled in Norman. Billy began working for the City of Norman, and spent many years serving his community. While there he worked for both the Norman Police Department and served on the Norman Fire Department as well. He later took a job with the Department of Corrections working at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility for several years. Billy then took a job with the City of Purcell and retired as Supervisor of City Maintenance after years of service. He married Connie Lucille Bench in Purcell in 1996. Billy was a hard worker and great provider. And though life was not always easy for Billy, he managed to overcome many difficulties. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed archery. Billy was a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church in Purcell.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Nonie and Lillie Martin and His sister, Lois James.

His wife, Connie of the home; Two sisters, Lova Myers of Ventura, Ca and and Leona Hewitt, also of CA.
And many other family and good friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
