Born December 15, 1918 to the late Frank and Rachel O’Connor has gone home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Grace loved to be involved in her children’s lives and activities. She loved eating at Mike’s Village Restaurant in Dimondale and working with the DALMAC Crew. Grace was a charter member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was the founder of Keenagers. Grace was a member of the Marriage Encounter Community and the Mid-Michigan Gem and Mineral Society. Grace will be remembered for her ability to sit down at a table with strangers and be able to get to know and remember everything said by her new friends. This allowed her to touch the lives of so many people. Grace is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Arthur Chappell, a brother David O’Connor, a sister Carolyn Houser, and a daughter-in-law Carol Chappell. She is survived by her sister Marjory Patton, 2 sons; Stuart Chappell, Michael (Garnet) Chappell, 2 daughters Nancy (Mickey) Ransom and Rebecca (Patrick) Baughan, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5589 Van Atta Road, Haslett with Reverend David Davis officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the church and one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
