Howard Prune Beals

Howard “Prune” Beals age 84 of Yale and formerly of Brown City died April 2, 2013 at his home with family around. He was born April 5, 1928 in Peck to Howard and Hilda Beals. Howard graduated from Peck High School Class of 1946 and then served in the United Stated Army. He was united in marriage to Joyce Eastman on January 29, 1955. Howard was retired from beet farming and custom harvesting and truck driving. Howard served as a Commissioner for Sanilac County and also on the Sanilac Road Commission for many years. He was on the Board of Directors of Tri-County Bank for 20 years. He was a long time member of the VFW Setter Post in Brown City and Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Joyce Beals, 3 daughters Cynthia L. Beals, Brenda Stephens and Amy (Steve) Huston, 2 grandchildren Michael Stephens and Elizabeth Huston and a sister Sarah Bertrand. He was preceded in death by a son Guy Howard Beals, a brother Laverne “Buzz” Beals and a sister Helen Dunlay. A gathering and viewing will be 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday April 9th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, United Hospice of Marlette or Shriners Hospital.
