Patricia “Pat” Ann Geetings, 84, of Honor, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at her home. She was born November 11, 1928, in Flint, the daughter of Andrew and Kittie (Bare) Rosa.
Pat worked as an inspector for many years at Normic Industries in Traverse City. Even after her retirement, she continued to work part-time until the age of 75. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino. She was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, especially the Detroit Pistons. Later in life, she took up woodworking and began making wooden lawn ornaments.
Pat’s life centered around her family. She loved hosting family get-togethers, especially on Christmas and the 4th of July. She was a talented cook and was famous for her potato salad. Pat cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spent a great deal of time attending their school functions.
Pat is survived by: her children, Tedd (Shannon) Geetings of Beulah, Kim (Patty) Geetings of Beulah, Patty (James) Ballard of Honor, and Barney (Mary) Geetings of Honor; her grandchildren, Christopher (Christina), Tami (Mark), Nathan (Brianne), Dana (Shan-Mei), Travis (Cassie), Ryan (Jesse), Ben, Melissa, and Maggie; her great-grandchildren, Amy, Kayla, Michelle, Branson, Drew, Zoe, Zachary, Rylee, Dalton, Mason, Jordan, Aiden, Addison, Austin, and Autumn; and her siblings, Bruce (Pauline) Rosa of Traverse City; Marvel Money of Honor; and her sister-in-law, Jean Rosa of Honor.
On January 22, 1947, Pat married Bernard “Tink’ Geetings who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: her parents and her brothers, Andrew “Bud” Rosa and Paul Rosa.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Benett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, with the Reverend Marvin Rosa officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah.
