Corey Gresham, 41, of Macon, MO, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in a car accident near Republic, Missouri.
He was born on May 3, 1971, in Columbia, MO, the son of Griff S. and Dana Y. (Stamp) Gresham. He was united in marriage to Mary “Meg” Crawford on May 16, 1992, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Macon, MO.
Corey graduated from Macon R-1 High School in 1989 and continued his education at Kansas City Kansas School of Mortuary Science, where he graduated in 1991. He was employed at Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home as a funeral director from 1991 to 1999, and then started with Batesville Casket Company, where he was currently employed. Corey was a member of the Macon Optimist Club, where he was the founder of the Star Student Program. He was an avid Bass Tournament Fisherman and grill master. Corey enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, and pulling pranks on friends and family. Corey loved life, and did not waste a single minute. Corey loved to laugh and would go out of his way to help a friend in need. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Meg of the home; four children, Emily Gresham of Columbia, Ethan, Eron, and Evan Gresham of the home; granddaughter, Adelynn of Columbia; father, Griff Gresham and fiancé, Connie Levy of Columbia; one brother, Kyle Gresham and wife Nancy of Kirksville, MO; one sister Callie Gresham and partner, Heather of Kansas City, MO; grandparents, Donna and Ron Smith of Macon, Lois Nerini of Bevier, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Corey was preceded in death by his mother Dana Gresham; grandparents, Kenneth Stamp, Ray and Jean Gresham, Lano Nerini, and great grandparents, Vern and Maudlle Vansicle.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Macon, MO. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens north of Macon. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4 to 8 pm at the First Baptist Church in Macon. Memorials can be made to the Gresham’s Children Education Fund or the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund. Services are under the direction of Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon.
