Funeral services for the late Fannie Douglas of Memphis, TN formerly of West Helena, AR will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Miracle Temple of Deliverance Church at 1:00 p.m... Reverend Hicks will officiate.
There will be no visitation she will lay in state 2 hours early followed by her service.
Burial will be held at Springlake Cemetery in Lexa, AR.
Mrs. Fannie Douglas was born on May 23, 1923 to the parents of Livingston and Lizzie Gause in Brownsville, TN. She was the seventh of nine children, who have all preceded her in death.
Upon losing her parents at an early age she moved to Memphis, TN to live with her older sister and attended school… Mrs. Fannie later moved to Chicago, IL; where she was an employee of The Leather Factory until she retired. She specialized in carving and construction of leather belts and wallets.
Fannie was married to Mr. Ronald D. Douglas who also preceded her in death. To their union no children were born. Upon retirement the Douglas moved to West Helena, AR; making a wonderful life for themselves. Mrs. Douglas became a member of Miracle Temple of Deliverance Church where she was a devoted member of her church and truly loved her pastor Elder Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memories her caregiver and loving niece, Ms. Jeanette Parrish of Memphis, TN; her loving nephew Mr. Gregory (Pat) Parrish of Dallas TX; and several nieces and nephews. (2) Special friends Vera Jones and Delores (Honey) Williams. A host of cousins and other family members that will miss her dearly.
