Rosemarie L. Callahan

Rosemarie Callahan, 93, Neenah, found eternal peace with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2013. She was born on November 11, 1919, in Marathon City, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Lidwina (Heus) Moersch. Rosemarie was united in marriage to Daniel Callahan on November 18, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1989.

In 1962, Rosemarie’s husband was transferred and the family moved to Neenah. She worked as a Secretary at St. Margaret Mary School for 17 years, retiring in 1982. Rosemarie was a devout Catholic, who enjoyed playing bridge and sheepshead. She was also an avid football and college basketball fan. A special part of Rosemarie’s life was the family summer vacations on North Twin Lake near Eagle River. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Rosemarie is survived by her four daughters: Mary Kay (James) Riedi, Susan (Michael) Schuelke, Sandy Schulz, and Cindy (Chris) Zuleger; twelve grandchildren: James (Molly), Shelli (Rich), Tanya (Judd), Jodi (Frank), Kelly (Ryan), Cassie (Kyle), Brian, Michelle, Tyler, Taylor, Garrett, and Brock; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rosemarie was further preceded in death by a sister: Lila (Jerry) Walters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. If desired, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, a charity that holds a dear place in Rosemarie’s heart, are appreciated.

Rosemarie’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Touchmark, where she lived for the past five years, especially Pam and Jane for all they did for our mother.
