Charles Howard

Charles Howard, 88, of New Cambria, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his home in New Cambria.

Charles was born on July 24, 1924, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Charlie and Lola Terrill (Yager) Howard. He was united in marriage to Nadine Webster on August 11, 1945, at the Congregational Church in New Cambria. Charles was a carpenter and farmer who enjoyed fishing, country music, playing cards and animals. He was a member of the United Church of New Cambria where he had helped build the church.

Charles is survived by his wife, Nadine of the home, two children, Judy Chiarottino and her husband, Jr. of Bevier, Missouri, Nina Howard and Amy Huff of Brookfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tonya Sutton, Becky Still, Michelle Nichols, Beth Chiarottino and Eric Howard, and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lola, one daughter, Alice Faye Hoffsette, one son, Gary Alan Howard, an infant son, James Randall Howard, and one sister, Jane Davis.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 29, 2013, at the United Church of New Cambria at 10:00 am with Reverend Mary Ellen Waychoff and Brother Jim Bolin officiating. Burial will be in New Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 28, 2013, at the Gilleland and McElwain Funeral Home in New Cambria from 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorials are suggested to the United Church of New Cambria.
