Lowell K. Longmire

U.S. Veteran

At his home, surrounded by those who loved him dearly, Lowell K. Longmire slipped into our memories on Monday, March 25, 2013. He rests in the arms of His heavenly Father. Visitation will be at Bailey & Foster on Tuesday March 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Graveside and Masonic services will be at Roselawn Park on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Cliff Carr officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Lowell leaves behind his dear wife of 61 years, Rhoda Longmire and two daughters, Rhonda Longmire Thomas and Mona Longmire Stevens. He is beloved by seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and an extended circle of friends and family. Lowell was predeceased by his parents Shapard and Mary Lou Cunningham Longmire. A seventh generation Texan and member of the 300 Club, Lowell was born in Rockdale, Texas on August 01, 1931. Seaman Lowell K. Longmire served his country in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Floyd B. Parks-DD844. Lowell worked for Cameron Ironworks for 35 years before retiring to Palestine with his sweetheart Rhoda, where they have been residents for 27 years. Lowell was past Master of Elkhart Masonic Lodge # 400 and District Deputy. A member and usher of Southside Baptist Church, the family ask that in lieu of flowers you honor Lowell with a monetary donation to Southside Baptist Church Media Library. Lowell was a Navy man, a craftsman, a cowboy and he will forever be remembered to us as Superman.
