Mamie Francis Goodnight entered her Heavenly home on March 20, 2013 at the age of 79. Graveside Service: 2:00 Monday, March 25 at Lindsey Randolph Cemetery in Randolph, Texas. Visitation: 6-8 Sunday at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado.
Mamie was born on October 23, 1933 in Randolph, Texas to Neil John and Lillie Mae Spivey. She married the love of her life, Selma Wayne Goodnight on April 12, 1952. They were blessed with one son. Mamie worked for Meador Oldsmobile in Fort Worth for 35 years and she was the first women in Texas to be sent to school to learn how pull General Motors scrap parts. Mamie spent her spare time being a homemaker, farming, building and mending fences, and pulling calves.She could tell you how to fix anything. She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Selma of Cleburne; son Larry Goodnight and Elaine of Weatherford; and her favorite niece and nephew, Ima Jean and Boots Box of Springtown.
