Jean Elizabeth Carlson, 55, a 20 year resident of Hopewell Junction, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY. A former resident of Hamilton Township, NJ, she was born in New Brunswick, NJ on November 26, 1957, she was the daughter of George S. and Alice (Suydam) Veghte; her mother survives in Dayton, NJ. Jean worked as an office manager for Andron Construction in Goldens Bridge, NY. Jean loved listening to music, bird watching, and baking, and she loved the Jersey Shore, especially Cape May. Jean worked on the Barbeque for the Cure, which helped St. Jude’s and The Jimmy Fund. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard M. Carlson, at home; a son, Gregory, and a daughter, Emily, both of Hopewell Junction; two sisters, Linda Buckley and her husband, Charles, of Rumney, NH and their six daughters and Carol Cornwell and her husband, Tim, of Chalfont, PA and their three sons. On June 23, 2013 at 1 PM there will be a Celebration of Life service for Jean at the Green Haven Correctional Facility Pavilion; family and friends are invited and encouraged to share a story or memory of Jean. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Jean may be made to either St. Jude Tribute Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
