Hildegard Beata Hanson, 89, of Moose Lake, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born September 21, 1923 in Wolverton to Friedrich and Anna (Bischoff) Parduhn. Hildegard was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII as part of the WAVES. Hildegard was united in marriage to Eugene Hanson on April 8, 1950 in Hill City. She was a high school teacher for the Willow River School District for 15 years until retiring in 1972. Hildegard enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, listening to audio books and traveling with her husband , Eugene. Hildegard was Moose Lake’s biggest Twins fan. Hildegard was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and was very involved in Bible study.
Hildegard is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents; brothers, Paul, Harold and Victor; sister, Hedi.
Hildegard is survived by 1 daughter, Ramona Hanson of Hopkins; 1 son, John (Katy) Hanson of Eden Prairie; 2 grandchildren, Christine (Matt) Kelash of Richfield and Nicholas Hanson of Rochester; 3 great grandchildren, Oliver, Annabel and Elliot Kelash; brother, Fred (Lois) Parduhn of Excelsior; 3 sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hanson of Moose Lake, Irene Parduhn of Alexandria and Laura Parduhn of Cannon Falls; many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, March 23, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
