Helen Adeline Henderson

Helen Adeline Henderson, 99, of Perryville, MO died March 14, 2013 at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.

She was born on December 2, 1913 in Kimmswick, MO, daughter of George and Clara (Vogt) Muench. She married John F. Henderson on August 29, 1934. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1997.

She had been a skiver at International Shoe Factory and later a cook at PHS School. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Berean Bible Class, and VFW Post 4282 Auxiliary. She was a 1931 graduate of PHS.

Survivors include four children, Carol (Adrian) Brown of Searcy, AR, Georgia Fay Blechle of Perryville, John D. (Lilly) Henderson of Mexico, Neil (Gloria) Henderson of Perryville; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Melvin Jr.) Riney; one son-in-law, Robert Blechle; two sisters, Norma Prevallet, Leah Queen; one brother, Clair “Pete” Muench; one great-grandson, Joshua Oehl; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aubrey Brown.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 17 at Young & Sons Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with VFW Auxiliary wake at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 am. She will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for service at 10:00 am with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial in Church Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Building /Debt Reduction.
