Billy D. Miller, Sr., 83, of Fortson, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Vista Care Hospice. Memorial services will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton with Rev. Clyde Gramling officiating.
Mr. Miller was born March 12, 1930 in Slocomb, AL, the son of Angus and Mary Ester Woodham Miller. He was a retired chef for Bevo Mills Restaurant in St. Louis, MO and had also operated Bill’s Diner in Fort Pharmacy, Columbus, GA. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, Richland, GA. He was the widower of Mary Jane Dickerson Miller and was also preceded in death by a son, William J. Billy Miller; two grandchildren, Tiffani Miller and Myriah Pell.
Survivors include his daughter, Lori Roughton and her husband, David of Fortson; two sons, Michael Miller and his wife, Susan of Fortson, Billy D. "Dino" Miller, Jr. and his wife, Jami of Columbus; one sister, Lou Kay Carter of Columbus; four grandchildren, Ginger Roughton, Crystal Rodgers, Elijah Miller and Joli Miller; two great-grandchildren, Cassie Vowell and Ivy Roughton.
