John G Davis

U.S. Veteran

John Davis, passed unexpectedly away at the age of 71, in Seattle, WA at Fred Lind Manor where he lived the past five years.

John was born in Spartanburg, SC to Claude and Mary Davis. The family moved to Up State New York. He graduated from Alexandria Bay High School and went on to obtain a BA in business from Columbia College.

A decorated Veteran, he was a Master Sergeant in the US Army where he served as a Drill Sergeant and a Recruiter-often being recognized as an outstanding recruiter in his region.

John was passionate about his entire family. He enjoyed fishing, camping and volunteering through Veteran’s Programs. He was a member of the Purple Heart Society and the American Legion. While serving in the US Army he was the recipient of many medals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

John Davis is survived by his spouse Lynne Davis and four daughters Dulcie Chase of Kenmore, WA, Tina Eubanks of Bremerton, WA, Samantha Umbaugh of Edmonds, WA, and Rebeckah Cook of CT. Also, surviving are 11 grandchildren Chadd Chase, Alex Eubanks, Joshua Chase, Brently Chase, Tyler Chase, Nicholas Eubanks, Adam Umbaugh, Patrick Cook, Alyah Azmath, Hannah Cook-Rezanow, Aidan Cook-Rezanow and two great grandsons Caydden Chase and Jaydden Chase and one expected great grandchild.

John was from a large family with many surviving brothers, sisters, and extended family mostly who live in NY.

John Davis will be laid to rest March 15, 2013 at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A memorial will be held at Fred Lind Manor on March 17, 2013 in Seattle, WA where he lived the past five years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to Tuell-Mckee Funeral Home for Veteran’s caskets and urns program.
