Ramona Helen Jack

U.S. Veteran

Ramona H. Jack passed from this life into eternal peace and rest on Thurs. Mar. 7 in Temple where she was a residence since 1983. The Celebration of her life will be held at 10A.M. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Temple Garden of Memories, 8101 Old Hwy 81 in Temple. Charlie Day, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Temple, where Ramona was a member, will be leading this celebration.

Ramona was born on September 28, 1928 on her family’s farm outside of Dorchester, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by parents, Orville and Grace (Potter) Jack.

Ms. Jack graduated from Dorchester High. Ramona served her country from May 1951 to October 1952 in the Women’s Army Corp and was very proud of that time in her life, when she served as a communications operator. As most women of her generation, she was a stay at home mom with three daughters who will miss her and loved her: Denice B. Carney of Waxahachie, Barbara Bragewitz of Temple, and Janell Bragewitz of Asheboro, NC.

Ramona is survived also by two sisters: Lenore Renner and husband Ray Renner of Crete, NE and Dolores Ritter and husband Kenneth Ritter of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by five grandsons: Larry Carney of Ft. Worth, Les and Wes Carney of Waxahachie, David Stockman of Copperas Cove and Christopher Cox of Asheboro, NC; and one granddaughter, Samantha L. Stockman of Copperas Cove. Ramona is also survived by five great-granchildren: Jacob, Matthew, Joshua, and Micah Carney and Shannon Mae Carney, all of Waxahachie.

The family would like to express their thanks to Bobbie Thompson and Pat Guillory of Visiting Angels, Temple, for their loving care and attendance of our mom and grandma. Also to the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Scott & White, Temple on 7N, who made mom’s last days comfortable. Thank you also to Scott & White’s Hospice team for their caring and compassion. We love you Lisa and Kimlee, words are not enough to express our deep appreciation to Doctors Lang, Heather Henderson, Farra, and to Dr. Patel & Dr Nguyen, Cardio Surgeon.

Chaplains Tamara & Darrell for listening, also deep appreciation to the namless warriors who also provided your valuable compassion and service.

Mom, our tears are of both sorrow and joy. Sorrow because we will miss you and of happiness because you are, at last, free, at peace in the arms of the Lord. No more pain and suffering, only joy.

Love Always,

Denice, Barbara, and Janell
