Janice Hugh Koester Wilson

Janice Hugh Koester Wilson, 76, of Weslaco, TX, formerly of Macon, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Valley Grande Manor in Brownsville, TX. Janice was born on January 25, 1937, in Jacksonville, MO, the daughter of Charles and Faye (Bradshaw) Shoffner. She was united in marriage to Henry Koester on December 23, 1953, in Jacksonville, MO. He preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Richard Wilson on April 2, 2004, in Macon. Janice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Macon and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed collecting angels, playing shuffleboard in the Valley, dancing, playing cards, and especially spending time with her family. Janice is survived by her husband, Richard Wilson of Weslaco, TX, two children, Mike Koester and his wife Debbie of Viola, AR, Diana Sumpter and her husband Dennis of Excello, MO, two step-sons, Jeff Wilson of Anabel, MO, and Gary Wilson and his wife Rhonda of Hallsville, MO, fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Byron Shoffner and his wife Eileen of Moberly, MO, one half brother, Sam Shoffner of Iowa, several step-brothers, and step-sisters, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Henry Koester, one son, Allen, one great granddaughter, Rielly, and one great grandson, Kasey. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Hutton & McElwain funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in the Mt. Salem Cemetery in Excello. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Tuesday evening, at the funeral home in Macon. The family suggests memorials to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
