GLENS FALLS--- It is with great sadness that family and friends of Theresa Abbruzzese have had to say good bye. Theresa has succumbed after a long battle with kidney and lung illnesses on March 6, 2013 with her sister Roseanne Scali and long time friends Paul Amter and Susan Parker by her side. Born May 15, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, to the parents of Carmine and Nicoletta (Dolly) Abbruzzese. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brother Joseph Abbruzzese. Theresa’s legacy of her life will be left to be cherished by the many people she so selflessly helped and nurtured along her journey through life. They would include her sister Roseann Scali of Glens Falls, her sisters-in-law Nancy Abbruzzese of Staten Island and Patty Fitzgibbons of Florida, her niece Kathy Scali of Staten Island, her nephew Anthony Scali, and his five sons, all of Arizona, nephews Michael Turco, Nicholas Abbruzzese and a niece Michele Turco, of Staten Island Theresa also had her beloved four legged “son” Nipper. Along with countless close friends that were brought to share her journey by the powers of her dear friend Bill W. with whom without his help Theresa’s life would not have been as inspirational to everyone she knew. Her laugh was infectious and her humor was her biggest addiction, Theresa’s passion of entertaining others and having a good time made her easy to love and never be forgotten. The family would like to thank the hospital staff on the 4th floor at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie for their outstanding care in providing comfort to Theresa during her long stay with them.
