Vernon Jamison

Vernon “Vern” Jamison, 71, of Rural Ludlow died at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 2013, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, New Braunfels, Texas while vacationing.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Ludlow United Methodist Church with Pastor Sidney Crowcroft and Pastor Lisa Wiedeman officiating.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. (2 hr before the funeral service) Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the church.

Vern was born April 11, 1941 in Elliott, IL the son of Clark Walter and Dorothy Kaiser Jamison. He married Jill Beth Radke July 2, 1971 in Champaign. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Todd (Melissa) Jamison of Pesotum; three daughters, Becky Kuhlmann of Oakwood, Penny Jamison of Champaign, Amber (John) Dinneen of Gardner, KS; eight grandchildren, Alexis Sones, Karleigh Jamison, Tyler Kuhlmann, Trace Kuhlmann, Trey Kuhlmann, Michael Jamison, Peighton Jamison and Kylie Dinneen; three sisters, Audrey (Wayne) Apperson of Foosland, Janice Wells of Onarga, Betty (John) Drinkwalter of Mahomet; two brothers, Allen Jamison of Bloomington, Ed (Irleen) Fields of Bourbonnais and a sister-in-law, Jackie Jamison of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis.

Vern attended Gibson City High School and Paxton High School. He retired from the University of Illinois as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 841 and the Ludlow United Methodist Church. Vern was an active volunteer for the Ludlow Food Pantry. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ludlow United Methodist Church or the Ludlow Food Pantry.
