Weber City, VA – Kyle M. Begley
Kyle M. Begley, 77, of Weber City, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Begley was born June 18, 1935, in Scott County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Elmore Begley and Dollie Summey Begley Green.
He proudly served his country as a member of the Tennessee National Guard.
Mr. Begley was retired from employment as a security guard at T.C. Robinson High School (Asheville, NC).
He was of the Baptist faith and had, in past years, attended Cassells Chapel (Dungannon, VA).
Everyone who knew Kyle knew him as someone who loved life and loved to have a good time. He was known for his laughter and sense of humor and for being a “cut up”. His family and friends were all very dear to his heart and he loved them all very much.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Begley; a brother, Bobby Begley, and 2 half-brothers, Roy E. Green and Delano Green.
Survivors of Kyle M. Begley include his wife, Doris Jean Ponder Begley (Weber City, VA); 3 sons, James Martin Begley and wife Dawn (Leicester, NC), Terry Lynn Begley and wife Trish (Asheville, NC), and Kenneth Eugene Begley and wife Nancy (Leicester, NC); daughter, Valerie Kay Begley Arrington and husband Steve (Weber City, VA); a half-brother, Douglas Green and wife Deloris (Hollywood, MD); special first cousin, Eyvonne James (Maryland); 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; many, many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home (Weber City, VA). A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Deacon Dale Hall, Pastor Bill Ponder, and Pastor Nelson Ponder will officiate. Music will be provided by Cassells Chapel Singers.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Carter Cemetery (Fort Blackmore, VA). Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Colonial Funeral Home no later than 12:00 p.m. to go to the cemetery in procession. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and remaining grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.
