Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Greater Unity African Methodist Episcopal Church, 744 Coach Road, Holly Hill, South Carolina with the Reverend Julius Steed, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm at the funeral home Friday, March 8, 2013.
Mrs. Little was born in Holly Hill, a daughter of the late Mr. Moise Bruce Hampton and Mrs. Maggie Dailey Hampton.
She was a graduate of Roberts High School and was employed as a cook at The Presbyterian Home in Sumnmerville, SC for twenty-seven years.
She was a member of Greater Unity A.M.E. Church where she was a member of the Mothers' Board, Senior Choir, Stewardess Board, Missionary Society, the Ernest Brown Sixty-Plus Club and was a former Class Leader. She was a true Prayer Warrior and often led the prayer at family gatherings and in church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sammie Little, Sr., two sons: George Little and Kirby Little; a grandson, Sabastian Middleton and siblings: Mrs. Irene Green Baker, Mrs. Lucille Jacques and Mr. William Hampton.
Mother Little displayed a motherly love for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a sports fanatic and would often attend games to watch her grandchildren play. Mother Little had a genuine love for fishing, gardening, baking cakes, spending time with her family and friends and talking on the phone.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: two daughters, Mary Ann Middleton, of Holly Hill, SC and Cherry (James) Davis, of Goose Creek, SC; two sons, Sammie (Alma) Little and Gilbert (Mayola) Little, of Boston, MA; two additional daughters-in-law, Jennie Ruth Little and Ruth Ann Little; a special granddaughter, Shauntoya Middleton, a dear friend of the family, Enieda Mendoza; special nieces and nephew, Maggie Oliver, Janie Sellers, Delores Cherry, Elnora Washington and Roger Green; a dear friend, Ms. Pauline Young; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews., other relatives and friends
