Lynn N. Sprouse, Jr.

U.S. Veteran

Lynn Newton Sprouse, Jr., 82, resided in Belton, Texas and passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 in Temple, Texas. He was born on November 12, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to Len Newton Sprouse and Gladys Kate Lanier. Mr. Sprouse leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Janette; his daughter, Joyce Lynn Sprouse Hicks; son-in-law, Gary Lee Hicks; and stepdaughters, Kimala Wilson and Teresa Hosch; stepsons, Craig and Scott Bailey; along with 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was a 33rd degree Mason and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 7 years. During his military tenure, he became a Staff Sergeant and a Korean War Veteran. He spent most of his career in the construction industry where he often traveled globally. Although he spent most of his residency in Texas, Mr. Sprouse had a special affinity for his time in Belize where he resided in the early 1970's and was a charter member of the Rotary Club in Corozal Town, Belize. Subsequently, he and Janette moved back to that area for a short while in the late 1990's. Services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 1, 2013 at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
