Carl G. Kremer, 99, of 800 6th Ave NW, Cascade, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Carl may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Services for Carl will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.
Carl was born August 7, 1913 in Cascade, Iowa, son of Frank P. and Kathryn (Streng) Kremer. He received his education at the former St. Mary’s Catholic School in Cascade, Iowa. On January 24, 1940 he was united in marriage to Marian Neuhaus at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa. Carl farmed in the rural Cascade area and was also a School Bus Driver for the Western Dubuque Schools.
He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, the Cascade Lion’s Club, the Cascade Knights of Columbus Council #930, and the Cascade Sportsmen’s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marian Kremer of Cascade, IA; four children, Paul (Jeanette) Kremer of Epworth, IA, Fred (Marlene) Kremer and Michael (Joyce) Kremer both of Cascade, IA, Gery (Jan) Kremer of Dubuque, IA; 14 grandchildren, Wendy (Randy) Manning, Joe (Lisa) Kremer, Molly (Brian) Bock, Kurt Kremer, Ryan (Kay) Kremer, and Doug (Courtney) Kremer, Kathy (Larry) Knipper, Ken (Micah) Kremer, Kevin (Jessica) Kremer, and Kara (Scott) Collings, Chad (Kerry) Kremer and Dan (Stacy) Kremer, Jenny (Shawn) Darling and Jon Kremer; 26 great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jane Clarke of Cascade, IA, and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kremer of Cascade, IA and Esther Mootz of Platteville, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Karl Kremer; two brothers, Jerome and Edward Kremer, a sister, Dola Potter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Midge Kremer,Willard Potter, Pat Clarke, Delores and Nick Miller, Henrietta and Henry Feldmann and Don Mootz.
A Carl G. Kremer memorial fund has been established.
